As some of you may have already seen, the webcomic site Inkblazers has just announced that it will be closing down for good on February the 1st. This is the site I was intending to make the main upload site for Wired.
I only had one-and-a-half chapters of Wired uploaded onto the site, but I found I was already very emotionally invested in IB - it has a great community aspect and I found it much more enjoyable to use for uploading comics than any other site. So I was genuinely upset to see that it was going, and my heart goes out to all the authors whose primary income was generated by IB, who weren't informed of what was going on until a blog post was put up announcing that the site was being closed down. It's all been very badly dealt with and it's clear there were a lot of people who really wanted the site to stay.
With IB going under, I now have Wired posted on Smackjeeves and dA, but neither is generating much interest and I don't really want to use them as my primary sites for the comic. In fact I'm torn as to whether I should take down the pages already uploaded onto SJ and dA. I've created an account on Tapastic, which everyone else seems to be doing in a mass migration from IB. I haven't uploaded anything on there yet because I want to start afresh, but if you'd like to follow it anyway, the link is here: tapastic.com/rbillustration
Just wanted to let everyone know that things are still steaming along steadily. This project is very important to me and I just hope no one ever thinks I've abandoned it when I go quiet for a while.
Unfortunately I can't place an ETA on the novel because I don't know how long the publication process will take once the completed manuscript is submitted. However, the comic will begin again before that because obviously it's being worked on at a much slower pace, so within a few months, I hope to have it up and running again.
I'm also still working a busy day job and my hours change every single week, so it's really hard to predict when I'll be free to work on everything.
Thanks for your continued patience and support
